The market town of Hohenwarth in the Weinviertel offers cultural attractions such as the pilgrimage church or Mühlbach Castle with its English landscape park, as well as a glimpse into the history of Austrian writers and opens the Joseph Misson birthplace to interested visitors.
Idyllic hiking and biking trails invite you to get to know the forests of the Manhartsberg and the “Hiata Hut” also offers a wonderful view of the Danube valley.
Mühlbach Castle is one of the most beautiful places in Hohenwarth with its farm yard, church, rectory and beautiful English garden. The painted sundial above the driveway, the Gothic pointed arch portal and the alliance coat of arms make the castle a real eye-catcher.
The adjoining baroque palace garden with a size of around 15 hectares makes walks an experience. A wonderful pond and various paths make everyday stress forgotten and cultural summer events such as plays and concerts also cause great amusement in Hohenwarth.
Hohenwarth-Mühlbach also has something to offer for those interested in history, as this is where the birthplace of the Austrian writer Joseph Misson is located. The former count's estate and the Biedermeier house with its museum and original documents invite you on a journey through time into literary history.
